In October 2015, ABRE PR launched the first Municipal Fiscal Health Index in Puerto Rico. At that time, it was the first time that the audited financial statements of all municipalities were available on the Internet. The Index was developed in collaboration with the Office of the Comptroller and the Society of Public Accountants of Puerto Rico. In 2016, the Knight Foundation awarded a grant for the development of the digital platform. The main objective of the Index is to measure all municipalities with the same criteria so that citizens can monitor the execution of their mayor.
The index is published every year. Currently, it is the main municipal financial information tool in Puerto Rico.
